1. Purpose & Business Need

We can clearly explain what problem this AI solution is solving. The expected value is measurable. AI is more appropriate than a simpler solution. The people affected by the solution have been identified.

2. Data & Privacy

We know what data the system uses. Sensitive or confidential information is protected. Data quality is appropriate for the use case. Retention and sharing practices are understood.

3. Human Oversight

Human review is required where consequences are significant. Employees understand when not to rely on AI output. There is a process for escalating questionable outputs. Accountability remains with people—not the tool.

4. Fairness, Quality & Reliability

Outputs are tested for accuracy. Potential bias or disparate impact has been considered. Performance is reviewed over time. Users can report harmful or inaccurate results.

5. Governance & Security

Someone owns approval and oversight. Security risks have been evaluated. Acceptable and unacceptable uses are documented. Vendor responsibilities are understood.
